Form DD-214 or a letter from GA Veterans Services is required. Discharge under honorable condition-(Initial tag issuance only).
The term “prisoners of war” means those veterans of the armed forces of the United States who were discharged under honorable conditions and who were captured and held prisoner by forces hostile to the United States while serving in the armed forces of the United States in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, or the Vietnam War.
Upon the death of the veteran, the surviving spouse may request/retain the tag provided they do not remarry. To request/retain the tag, a certified copy of the veterans death certificate, DD 214, and Marriage License is required.
